Is anyone using an adapter that they can use their devices, which are in a case, with headphones that have a large 3.5mm jack? Most non Apple OEM headphone jacks do not fit.
 
Basically, I'm looking for a solution for this...

Maybe try a portable amp solution like a FiiO E1 as they use the dock and not the 3.5mm out, which is better for sound quality anyway as it bypasses the phones amp. There are quite a few solutions doing that anyway that shouldn't comprimise sound quality, in ways make them better to be honest. The combo of any FiiO amp with one of their ipod dock out cables should work, check how much clearance you get with your current docking cable though the FiiO docks connectors are slightly bigger.
 
Also I found an adapter 'Exspect EX684' which is designed to use aftermarket headphones on iPods/iPhones, maybe that will suffice.
