I came across it a year or two ago, but I've always been afraid to try it...

The reason it's harder for you to wake up when you're getting 8 hours of sleep is because you sleep in ~5 hour cycles. You are sleeping lightest at the very beggining and the end of each cycle.

Oh, btw, sleep is definitely overrated, waste of 1/3 of your life as far as I'm concerned. Dreaming is pretty kool though. Lucid dreaming is really fun.
