exactly; anything too "springy" is not right; the standard overstock stuff is not as good, but it's not bad; i previously had high-density foam mattress with a memory foam topper; i think this is a good way to go; i'd get atleast 4inches of topper though

but if you have the cash, there are better options

I'm sitting on one right now! It's reputed to be the BOSE of office chairs though. It's comfy enough for me. As for beds. I want a Haestens or equivalent. http://www.hastens.com/

I L-O-V-E those chairs! I used some at M$ when I was testing Xbox games for xbox live launch.

OK.... The Novafoam mattress topper is a keeper for us. I had it for about 2 weeks, and very happy with it. My mattress is not that old, about 6 years, but I wanted to make it better. The topper did the job for me.

It's a 4-inch thick dual-layer of fiber and foam. I think the fiber layer was added to improve breathability and prevent heat buildup, which you might experience with the topper or mattress when you're directly on top of the foam.

I'm very happy to have a "New" bed with just ~$150 (Queen size). I can sleep deeper lately, no more backache or neck strain. I guess that I'll try the Memory foam pillows to see if it would bring the comfort to the next level.

- not as great for the "other" major activity in beds, b/c you sort of sink in.

It would depends on how you do "other" activities.

I had one of these chairs in my last job. If I sat in it for more than an hour or two without getting up I found my legs from the knees down would be a bit numb. I think it was the position of the front crossbar of the chair under my thighs doing it. There is absolutely no way I could have slept in one of these!
