So I bought these 4 (phantom still on the way) to determine which midrange open back made the most sense for me. I purchased the 400i first and liked them a lot. Treble is hot and crashy, but EQ fixed that. For the record, I EQ all my headphones, and use Hiby music app from G8.

So p-ii came Tuesday. Rec'ed by many as sounding like $2500 headphones. Nope. They are boxy. The vocals sound weird, and while the treble is better than on the 400i (2020 version btw), the rest is crap. They look nice, but the sound is not an improvement. The soundstage is narrow, and they don't offer anymore detail than a headphone that cost 50% less.

Testing the Amiron now...

Nod goes to the amiron for overall build quality and comfort. They are lighter, more attractive, and sturdier. Sound... The 400i actually feels less muddy. Bass sounds about equal, but the AMiron have more mids, and more refined highs, overall, but the 400i feel like they have greater clarity. Further listening needed.
