Singxer SU-6

Why are you guys replacing the Accusilicons ? I thought they were some of the very best.
I put an Accusilicon in my LKS MH-DA004 DAC, then swapped it for a Crystek 950x...

the Crystek made the sound far more accurate, smooth, lively, extremely easy to listen to.

also, I am listening not with headphones but with a 2 channel setup in a very large room. I think that’s always important to note.

Singxer uses the Crystek CCHD957 in the SU6

I just purchased the SU-2. I'm a little dismayed that it takes over a month for the sound to come together. Anybody notice a difference after a few days?

Swapped out the Accusilicon crystals for Crystek's today. Looking forward to some critical listening

Was it difficult to swap them out?
I work at a company that assembles printed circuit boards so I have the most experienced people at my disposal. The most challenging part is soldering the new Surface Mount crystal to the adapter board, need steady hands, appropriate soldering iron and magnifying device of some sort. They solderers at the shop solder with microscopes like a surgeon, pretty cool stuff

Net result:

Much smoother presentation.
This set of mods really took the edginess out of the SU-6 soundstage

Completely unexpected, so I am quite pleased with the 3 minor changes.

For a change of pace, I took a look inside the supplied Meanwell GST25A07-P1J powerbrick that came with the SU-6

Contents of powerbrick, first thing that stood out, Protective Earth pin is NOT connected.
No wire soldered to lug on the power socket.

Now for the truly cringeworthy...

Cap-Xon caps.

Casual google brought this out, reminded me of the pain from these things on PC motherboard regulators a few years back.

And here I thought Meanwell was a solid brand name.... everything looks good in the surface until it’s tinker time!

Have been looking for an su6 alternative (not unhappy with the su6, but just curious to see what else is out there).

Browsing the antipodes website and came across this.. http://antipodes.audio/antipodes-s20.php

Looks pretty. Wonder if it is worth the asking price over the su6.
