Well the wait for the revised Silver Dragon V2 Headphone replacement cable is finally over. Well at least, close to over. We just got back the first small test production run from the molders. It only took 6 months. Don’t ask, to painful to discuss. Anyway there will a limited amount for sale. I have not advertised this on the website yet, as I thought I would give the HeadFiers the first opportunity to get them. There are about 30. I have a few 5' and the rest are 10' so don’t ask for custom lengths. It is what it is. I can do Balanced, 1/4", mini or what ever termination you desire. Act fast as my guess is they will sell out in a day

What is different about V2? The answer is everything. The conductor is no longer Solid Core Silver but a Stranded 24awg conductor. The conductor is made up of variable sized strandings like our Silver Dragon Speaker cable. The conductors are surrounded by Kevlar stranded reinforcements. What this does is give the conductor the strength of a copper conductor. This means fewer failures over time due to stress on the cable split to the headphone. More reliable. The conductors are then surrounded by cotton, and then a layer of Teflon tape surrounds the grouping. We have added a shield. This will make use around computers a lot quieter. As computers are noisy animals. The cable is then jacketed in red Polyethylene jacket and then a layer of black Tec flex. I will post pictures soon. It's raining here in the Carolinas so can’t get a good picture until the sun comes out.

I have put about 350hrs on a prototype cable and can confidently say it is the best successor to the V1 I could produced. I have a Pair of Grado GS1000's and an RS-2 on about 300hrs with the Silver Dragon V2. The GS1000 phones will be traveling up to DC to Hirsh and StevieO real soon as well as the Prototype Senn Cable. So if you are in that area get in touch with them. I might send the RS-2, but right now it is my dedicated Computer phone. So don’t know if I can part with it just yet.

Now for the bad news. The price of Silver has exploded since the original V1 Silver Dragon. So the price tag had to go up. All my silver cables will be going up in price. If you where looking to buy any silver from me, now is the time because I am almost out of the miles of silver conductors I bought 5 years ago.

Now for a surprise. I ran, under a lot of protest from the molders, a small batch of Black Dragon Sennheiser cables. The reason for the protest is the mold cavity is not big enough to support the Black Dragon conductor grouping. The cable will over time damage the mold. So we will not be able to produce this cable without the creation of a new Mold Cavity. At this point I am not willing to go to this expense. 3 cables for the Sennheiser would be a little much.
So, I think I have about 30 Black Dragon cables in 5' and 10'. Once again any termination is possible. Details of this cable have not changed. All info can be found on the website. I am covering this cable in a carbon fiber colored Tec flex to match the HD650 colors.

Prices:

5' Silver Dragon V2 with either 3.5mm or 1/4": $200
5' Silver Dragon V2 with Balanced Config: $225
10' Silver Dragon V2 with either 3.5mm or 1/4": $250
10' Silver Dragon V2 with Balanced Config: $275

5' Black Dragon V2 with either 3.5mm or 1/4": $200
5' Black Dragon V2 with Balanced Config: $225
10' Black Dragon V2 with either 3.5mm or 1/4": $250
10' Black Dragon V2 with Balanced Config: $275

The Black Dragon is labor intensive thus the reason for the same price as Silver D.
Which is better? Comes down to preference. The Silver D has almost all of the same Qualities of the V1 with some improvement in presentation and super quiet back ground.
The Black is very similar to the Blue Dragon with more low end and more detail.

What you say..... more news. Because of the new creation of the Silver Dragon V2 and it's size, we now have the ability to do a Silver Dragon V2 pocket dock. These pictures I have now

It's hard to tell the differences in a picture of the V2 and V1. But in hand they are very different. The Silver D V2 is more flexable and easily coils up.
