hi all

i've been searching and have not found what i wanted to know...that is....on grado cables has anyone ever taken apart/opened up the "y" where the larger cable splits and goes into each ear cup??? thanks

Why do you want to know? Just curious. I think the Grado cable is stranded, so the strands are halved at the Y (?)

well i do not really care for the way the cables split in the V and I was wondering if it is possible to remove the plastic piece and possibly place some heat shrink or some sort of rubber sheath where the plastic part is...thanks

You probably could, but it'd lower the strength and resale value of the Grados. Why not just build a new cable for them?

well i have thought about making a cable for them, i really have put alot of thought and even looked through alot of the threads on making cables etc..but i'm just not sure of myself i suppose...anyways thanks for the responses
