You're welcome. Check it out. I think you'll like it. I was expecting to weigh more being steel, but it's really quite light.

I've had the 40 oz. with the ring top for about six months and take it to the gym daily. Hasn't dented yet. *knocks on wood*

I saw these at the store the other day, I might pick a couple of them up. I'm just bringing bottles of Dasani around with me lately...

My girlfriend has the white version which she keeps at her office. No where near as durable as her SIGG, but still pretty fun.

SIGG also makes a stainless steel bottle for hot and cold liquids:

SIGG BLACK HOT AND COOL BOTTLE 0.5L (16 OZ) - 8127.50

The whole reason for using metal is so that it can be in direct contact with the liquid and still be safe. SIGG goes and puts in a proprietary liner which according to them, doesn't leach anything. Nalgene said their plastics were 100% safe until they had no other option!

It's a shame kleen kanteen don't make a wide mouthed 1L bottle like Nalgene did, it makes cleaning a whole lot easier. And there appears to be no mention of liners on their website.

It's good to see that SIGG is a good solution for a lot of people here.

Sadly, I cannot say the same. I (and my wife) each had a SIGG for a couple of weeks, and it simply did not get along with us at ALL. It sweat all over the place when I put cold water in it, was difficult to carry with 1 finger, hung funny from a backpack when using a caribiner clip, had a narrow neck, so it was difficult to put ice in it or clean it (without purchasing a SIGG cleaning kit - again an added expense), and it was way too much effort to unscrew the top every single time I wanted a sip of water (yes, I know that there is the sport cap, but it is an added expense, and it is not nearly as practical as the Camelbak bitevalve solution). I feel the SIGG bottles are way overpriced, and just did not suit my needs well at all.

Then I discovered this GEM of a water bottle, and things have been peachy ever since:

CamelBak BPA-Free Better Water Bottle with Bite Valve

I went with the 0.75 liter in the charcoal color, and it pretty much solved all of the problems I had with the SIGG. I haven't noticed that the plastic has tainted the flavor of the water.

But for those who care, the SIGG bottles do at least offer a huge variety of colors and designs (if that is important to you), where the Camelbak bottles only come in a handful of colors, and no patterns or fancy graphic designs.

^^^ I love those bite valves. Great invention.

It's good to know they made water bottles with them too. (wouldn't want to walk around with a hydration pack everywhere

I love these babies. Always have them with us when we are out walking/hiking. The SIGG is more for everyday use.

I also have a Camelbak Classic backpack for cycling.

sorry to bring back a dead thread but my Klean Kanteen just came and so far I think I like it better then my sigg, we'll see. Maybe in a week or two I'll do a comparison writeup.

This is the main reason why I don't carry my SIGG bottle anymore. Everytime I want to have a sip, whether in a class or while moving, it becomes just a hassle having to unscrew it. True, I also have to unscrew the conventional water bottle cap, but it's not as big and obstructive.

The mentioned bite cap bottles looks very interesting and more convenient. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the mention.

I use a Kraft Italian Dressing Bottle - 250 ml. After I use the dressing, of course. It has an Italian Dressing taste for a couple of weeks but the shape makes it much more portable and it is smaller than the other bottles.
