first proper sound comparison with Noble Apollo, and he chooses PX8. Interesting

I'll never judge anyone's opinion on what they hear, but I'll just say that he and I hear the Apollos very differently. Love his comparisons overall though. I've watched him plenty because he does more comparisons than most on YouTube.

I changed the ear pads on the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro from medium to large, I had no problems during the replacement. There is no damage (tears), as you can see in the photo.

The procedure for replacing the ear pad took 30 seconds. I turned the ear pad inside out and took it by the base, then pulled it up with a little effort. The mount has grooves and a snap (similar to a suction cup with grooves), so you need to make a little effort to remove or put on the ear pad, it is important to get into the grooves. The material of the ear pads is silicone, if I'm not mistaken.

For me, the large size of the ear pads is too big, and the medium is too small, I left the large with it, the passive sound cancellation is better (most likely, there will be a problem finding the right size of ear pads for me, if Samsung does not make another size of ear pads between medium and large).

While the Buds 3 Pro are charging, I'm currently listening to the Sony WF-1000XM5 and they sound just as great!

I'm liking mine so far. I think the ANC is only ok - strangely, I found the Buds 2 Pro to be better in this respect. However, I do think the Buds 3 Pro sound better and are now competition for other earbuds, particularly following access to the best of SSC following the firmware upgrade to the S24U last week. My favourite buds, to date, have been the Denon Perl Pros (the Dirac processing and the sound customisation do, in my experience, positively influence SQ).

I am having one weird and random issue with the Buds 3 Pro. Every so often, a track advances without reason. To advance a track normally needs a squeeze on the earbud stem (touch is reserved for volume control). Annoying and random - sometimes they play normally for ages, at others this behaviour happens fairly frequently. Anyone else experienced this issue?

That’s strange. Haven’t heard the Apollo yet but the PX8 is unlistenable for me. Such a wrong frequency response. Seldom listened to a worse headphone than the PX8 🙈
Each to their own. While I completely agree that the PX8 is far off neutral, I certainly would not describe them as 'unlistenable'. In fact, particularly on noisy commutes, the sound signature and effective ANC can make these an excellent companion to enjoy music and movie material on the go. I much prefer my ML 5909s, but still occasionally use the PX8s, and they were my 'go to' commuting companions for well over a year before I purchased the 5909s.

It is good news that there is such an emerging choice of higher end BT headphones now, as there is bound to be a pair to suit all ears and music tastes. I'm quite intrigued by the Nobles (LDAC codec support is unusual but welcomed).

Its a she to see so few true audiophile reviews of buds 3 pro, especially with that codec. Crinn used to review buds on release and gave them some incredible reviews. Oh well.

I guess what I disliked about them was the striking absence of mids (I don´t mind north of neutral bass as long as the mid-bass won´t mask the lower mids). Bathys was better in regard of the mids and not as wonky sounding as the PX8, but there you had no highs and a hollow, muffled sound. So without EQ nothing for me. Let´s see how the Apollo fairs in comparison to the others ...

So interesting. I literally have the Bathys and PX8 side by side and the one place I'd take PX8 is mids. Vocals are larger and more prominent and have more of an organic quality, Bathys I hear mids more recessed. But I find Bathys treble far better. After EQ the PX8 flaw for me is the treble, I can't get rid of a slight compression and lack of detail, with Bathys, it's the mid range lack of body and overall timbre. Both are great in their own right though, I think, but for a trained ear the Bathys is probably easier to live with for the audiophile as slightly pushes back mids isn't as glaring as a definate flaw in the treble.

Interesting indeed 🤔 Well, we all have different ears in the end. Would be boring if there‘d be only one headphone for all of us 😜

Agree here. I definitely wouldn't describe the PX8 as unlistenable, but I do understand the issue for some with them. That's the one thing I didn't understand with Ron's analysis. He preferred the treble of the PX8 over the Apollo. I believe he described the Apollo as more warm? I think the Apollo has one of, if not the most natural sounding treble in a wireless anc headphone. I hate to sound like a marketing gimmick, but the planar's are definitely alive with the treble as that's where planar's tend to separate themselves from dynamic drivers. The only thing I can think of is that Ron prefers the more artificial sounding treble emphasis of dynamic drivers. To my ears, good treble of dynamic headphones will always sound more artificial than an equivalent planar headphone. Not to give away too much before I post my review in the next couple of days, but the Apollos do an excellent job at pushing treble when called for without the artificial exaggeration of S and T sounds, and I'm a treble nerd LOL.

Yeah super suprising to hear he preferred PX8 treble, but they seem to be such a polarising headphone I'm wondering if head side has a big impact on sound with them.

Hearing your thoughts on Apollo is great, I was pretty excited about the planar for highs, the extra resolution that could provide would be pretty decisive in my mind, especially if you EQ and make the most of that multi driver setup. Knowing treble is the fatal flaw of the PX8 I'd be amazed if I hear it better on those compare to Apollo. PX8 strength imo is timbre and mids, plus the fun sound signature. I can't see them winning many battles on treble lol.

I have never had this problem in 2 weeks of use.
If you listen to music using a streaming service, this behavior may be due to low Internet speed.

Nope, not limited to online sources. No other TWS bud does this, and I have many. I'll pick up with Samsung.

A message for those who use in-ear Bluetooth headphones.
I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro headphones. I have been using these headphones for about a week with my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone.
The sound quality of the Buds3 Pro is excellent, it is significantly better than the previous version of the Buds2 Pro headphones, and also better than my former favorites, the Sony WF-1000XM5.
The Galaxy Buds3 Pro have a neutral sound signature, excellent micro and macro dynamics, these are all-genre headphones. The Buds3 Pro have a comfortable fit, as well as good passive and excellent active sound canceling. Stable connection with the phone, I did not have any problems with sound distortion when my phone, as a sound source, was in another room. For me, these headphones are a great upgrade. I recommend paying attention to the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro.
I got the best sound quality in stationary conditions, using a connection to the Internet Wi-Fi 6E, a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (SSC audio codec) and the Roon app. Let me highlight that the best sound quality from the Buds3 Pro is obtained using the SSC audio codec (Samsung Seamless Codec), but unfortunately this audio codec is only supported on Samsung devices. Ultra high quality audio up to 24bit/96kHz’ is available on with One UI 6.1.1 or above.
Best bang for bucks IEMs are probably EarFun Air Pro 4, I just listen to them more than my Focal Hadenys since few days now lol
They are incredible for their price range, and probably match (or maybe better than Samsung and Sony ones, at least sonically speaking). Their sound match extremely close to harman IEM curve except for a very slight lack in the highs which can be tuned with EQ for get the perfect sound (but I made a very good EQ that I don't touch for now since few days, extremely pleased with the result), plus the white color is very sexy, love them!
