I have had the Shures for a good while now and they are excellent but looking for an upgrade possibly. What would be the next logical step , I know the 530s are lauded but 200 quid seems a lot of money for an MP£ player. I am looking to get the sony 808 if that helps .

I strongly recommend Phonak PFEs. If I had to choose between SE530s and PFEs regardless of their price, I'd pick PFEs by a heart beat. Plus, it won't hurt your wallet too much.

I didnt like my E2C's much but i had them for a long time, i upgraded from those to the SE530's but for all that extra money i still didnt feel like it was much of an increase, so after only two days i bought a pair of Sennheiser IE8's and im very pleased with them and will stick with them untill the next updated model comes out. good luck finding what your after
