July 15 is the official date but we could start shipping them earlier (according to Shure's sales director).

Nope - there was a site that had them listed for preorder at ~150 a few weeks ago but it has since raised back up to $199.

They're available from Full Compass Systems for $142.50 if you call them on the phone. You'll have to wait until they get them in on the 15th for shipping though. I paid $186 for the 'phones and next day shipping to Alaska.

does anyone know if I need to reference anything or ask for anything special with FullCompass? I've never dealt with them before and the website mentions a "call for lower price" for some items, but not the 840s.
