Just wondering if anyone can give me some insight into how these two sound and how they differ unamped. I currently have a pair of K601's and a Travagan's White, but I'd like to get a pair of cans I can use on the go with my laptop, often unamped (so not exactly "portable" per-say). I'll be using them to listen to a wide range of music (rock, jazz, funk, classical, blues, jam band, ect).

Here is a search for you regarding the SRH840 and M50. FWIR, I'd probably get the SRH440 instead.
