I have had the same pair of Shure SRH440 for the last 5-6 years and I absolutely LOVE them. They still sound amazing. However they have had a VERY hard life and are beginning to show the signs of age. I am still pretty new in the headphone game so I am not sure what I should move to. Do I just get another pair of the 440s or maybe the 840s or something all together? I am not looking to spend over $300. My primary use is using them when I am working predominately listening to EDM some rock top 40's etc. I have tried some open back sets and was not as impressed as with the Closed Backs.

If you like the 440s and the Shure sound, you will not be disappointed with the 840s. They are one of the most versatile headphones I've ever had the pleasure of owning. A clear upgrade to the 440 and as you know the 440 is no slouch.
