The sound quality remains the same, with all the custom cables, right?
It's just about the quality of the cable

Well...
the subject of the difference in SQ between different cables
is one of the most debated in audio.

I have no issue in saying that I hear differences between
different cables, and I know which ones I like.
I also have no issue with those who say that there are no
audible differences between different cables.

One caveat, though - even some of the diehard "no difference"
crowd will concede that SQ can suffer (slightly) in long cables.

But if you're getting a headphone extension cable of about 10
feet or so, with high quality cable and connectors, it's highly
doubtful that there will be any audible degradation in SQ.

Again, I'm partial to the Gotham Switzerland), and the
Canare (Japan)..

You might find this short article and the attendant
comments to be of interest in this regard.

Please especially note the comments, which show quite
clearly the different points of view on the continuing cable
SQ debate.

I forgot to mention that if you want to take the next step "up" in audio cables,
and have the resources to do so, you can go for silver wire cables (not
silver plated copper).

For example - and there are many others -

I personally would not use pure silver cable for a headphone extension.
But again, YMMV.

The Zx has an optical out, so if you wanted to use an external DAC you sure can (so long as your DAC has an optical in).

Or you could use any USB DAC by selecting it in the 'playback devices' menu.

I love the crisp, detailed, but yet laid-back high frequency. These are not fatiguing at all and they're insanely comfortable.

Well that picture is of my headphones, so yeah, I've tried them

They're the same size i.e. a perfect fit. Sound differences the bass impact might increase ever so slightly, but I'm not a 'critical' listener. Most of my listening is done whilst doing other things, and to me, they're both enjoyable. For £20 it's not much of an outlay to have them as an option!
