I have the option of purchasing either a Shure SE210 or a Shure E4 for roughly the same price. Which would be better for classical music and opera? Is there much difference?

I have not heard them, but if I were you I would go for the E4 without any hesitation, at least according what I've read so many times. You may want to consider also the Atrio M5 (that I've not heard either, but I've read MANY comparisons around here).

Not heard the SE210s yet. I have heard the E4s and they are highly recommended, with nice mids, smooth highs and sufficient bass. So +1 for the E4s
