Shure PTH module?

I posted this in the amp forum but got no replies.

Is the PTH module basically a unity gain current buffer?
Can it be used with other IEMs, to present a more palatable impedance load to the player source and alleviate hiss? (and avoid the adverse coloration presented by impedance adapters)

thanks in advance... I'm hoping SE500/530 members can comment.

The only controls on PTH are the on/off switch and the volume control for the microphone. So it won't present an additional load or impedance change.

Jays & Crossroads... but the shure rep confirmed that it does not alter the impedance load "seen" by the amp. I'll stick with my low gain cmoy for now.

Our PA235 attenuator might be of interest, it's a thumbwheel volume control that adds resistance. I think it might accomplish what you're looking for.

I can't guarantee that it's totally flat, it's primary application is airline travel where the headphone out found in the seats are way too hot for most IEM's. So it's not exactly audiophile, but it's not terrible either.
