I strongly disagree too, they have their own sound signature, and are on par overall with the W3, UM3X, CK100, TF10, IE8 and so on. Just depends what sound signature you prefer, also throwing the SM2 in the bunch of tops as they are really THAT good.

Ive owned the entire Se line up and in my experience i would say the price and sweet point are the 310's.
I really like the 420 as well but not quite as much.
The 310 are a real bargain for the sound they produce,and have the best treble extension of the other models.
My ears always enjoy them,heck i have two pairs,black and silver and i wouldn't be without them!
