I'm thinking about getting some of the Shure black foam tips for my UE super.fi 3s (using the mod). I'm just not sure what size I should get. I'm sure the larges are too big, so it's between the mediums and the smalls.

The gray foamies included with the SF3s fit my ears fine, but are a bit rough. So, could someone please tell me which shures are closest in size to the UE foamies? (preferably if you have seen the two side-by-side)

Thanks!

Medium sized buds are generally the one to get if you're not sure. As jinx said, you can make the go smaller, but you can't stretch the small sized ones. Also, people usually don't have to switch the buds from medium, and the alternate sizes are for people with extremely large or extremely small ear canals. Unless there were 5 sizes, you'd definitely want medium.

Ok. I am just being extra cautious here. I don't want to get one size and find out they're useless (even though the mediums are probably all right)

I've measured my UE foamies at .5 in diameter and 5/16 in long.

So could someone who has the shure black foamies measure them for me? Medium and/or small

Thanks

Shure black smalls are approx. 10.5 mm diameter, 4 mm diameter tube + 3 mm thick foam, 11 mm long.
Black mediums are: 12.5 mm diameter, 4mm tube + 4 mm foam, 11 mm long.

And for other comparisons:
Shure yellow: 13 mm diameter, 4 mm diameter tube + 4 mm foam, 9-10 mm long
The orange ety ones: 12 mm diameter, 6 mm diameter tube + 3 mm foam, 17 mm long.
