Hey fellow head-fiers,

I'm not going to upgrade my IEMs very soon (but it will be sooner or later, trust me ), and i've looked at 2 earbuds: Shure E3c and the Sennheiser IE7.

Now, i'm in a dilemma on which IEM I should choose. I know Shure makes good earbuds, but so does Sennheiser - and I'm a bit biased towards Sennheiser because i am very satisfied with my current pair of CX300s.

So, can anyone help me out?

No contest. IE7's in a landslide. E3C's are pretty lame. All midrange and little to to treble and bass.

IMO, if you appreciate solid midrange, E3C. If you're more prone to bass-heavy music, IE7s. Neither will disappoint, that's for sure.

the IE7 spank the arse off the E3c, no contest

only thing the E3c do better is more isolation

I think E4C/SCL4 is more of a direct competitor to IE7 than anything else, IMO. From what I've heard E3C is more like SE210's that I have, which is really underwhelming.

yeah there should be some rule that if you ask for help in picking something you have to come back and write a review of whatever it is you end up getting.

if you want to compare ie7 against a similar shure model. I would say the SE420. as for the E3c, its not a good buy.
