I used to love my Shure e2c's for portable listening, but now they have a tremendous amount of static as the cord moves. It is not cord microphonics, but rather each tug on the jack produces static. It is also bad if you just twist the plug in the jack. The Shure's do this in other players and other headphones do not do this, so I know it is not the jack.

Is there a way to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't sound good. I'd send them in for a repair.

Yup, one of Shure's reps sent me a private message about their warranty - its pretty cool because I don't need the receipt. I really love my e2c's for portable listening. Great sound, the behind the ear gives great fit and I had no microphonics with the cord.
