i noticed that my right earphone kept cutting out on my shure e2cs when i moved around. i realized that the culprit was in the plastic piece where the 2 headphone wires meet. if i grip it tightly, the sound doesn't cut out at all. do you guys think shure will cover this under warranty? what if my phones are kramer modded? will it matter, even though the problem has nothing to do with the mod? thanks.

Mine had the same problem and they replaced it under warranty. I'd contact them first by email to see what they can do.

Yep, the E2Cs are prone to wire issues. Mine had this problem, but I didn't know that I was still covered by the warranty, so I never got it repaired.

I created my own solution--it isn't pretty, but I bent the cord near the 'plug', took some electrical tape, and wrapped it around to keep the bend from moving around. It still cuts out occasionally, but not nearly as often.

Still, I thought that this was an issue that Shure had fixed by now?
