I'm thinking of buying my nephew a current gen. Shuffle. Question is, do they have the ability to cap the volume via limiter as with the larger, screened iPods? I don't want to be the cause of hearing loss to a relative!

Isnt there a way to limit the volume via itunes itself? As there would be no other way to do it on the shuffle given there are no other settings nor a screen.

Never looked for it in iTunes since I can do it directly on my 5.5g 80gb video iPod.

No. I guess I either shell out way more for a Nano, or just buy something else...

Yes, it would appear that the Shuffle can be volume limited:
