i have about 20g of lectures and speeches etc, most in either 128 or 64bit mp3 format.

what is the best way to shrink these files down to 10g, possibly 5g. anything outside of widely accepted format will not do, these files will be shared amongst many people, many who are computer illiterate .

also is there a speed way to do this?

U need to re-encoded with them 22 khz sampling rate & 64 kbps bitrate ..

reducing the sampling rate to half will reduce the file size drastically.

U can use tons of free softwares available on the net.
