Sell? I have found these components to provide all that I could ever want except the multi-channel SACD, so, I won't be selling them--ever. I'll likely just buy the OPPO and send it's output to P9000ES. The OPPO would replace a Panasonic BD-80 which I now use for multi-channel BluRay audio via P9000ES. Thing is, SACD is, all around, more to my liking. The OPPO appears to be my solution, but, I do have an affinity for the Sony and wish there was some way I could convert the 5400's output to analog.

You don't have to sell, keep them as a backup.  For the cost of the new Oppo, you can get the STR-DA7100ES + DVP-9100ES with greater simplicity and better sound.  I have tried this in great length hence the recommendation.  The DA9000ES & 7100ES are a state-of-the art digital amp  (Sony's best) and the multi-channel SACD via an i-link connection with these amplifier (similar to I2S) is just crazy good.  The performance via i-link is much nicer sounding than my SACDmods Sony DVP-9100ES feeding the analog input of the P/N9000ES.  The DA9000ES was retailed at 4.5k and the most expensive receiver ever made by Sony, second only to the DA9100ES (Japan model).  Please check out the link below for technology background on these receiver.

That's a pretty tall stack!!  Hope the rack able to handle the weight of all equipment.
 
I'm still holding on to my Sony STR-DA9000ES + DVP-9100ES.  A really good two boxes solution for my HT gears.  The SACD playback through iLink is very very good sound.  I'll have to unload my N/E/P-9000ES combo soon.  They all champagne gold.  PM me if you guys are interested in such collective combo.

Thanks for your comments, Its a very sturdy rack and holding up well with the weight!
I am however planning to cut things down a bit, I've heard good things about the DA9000ES (finding ones a bit of a task though been waiting out for one for some time!) , it would cut out the need for the 3 55's and the DA2400 really and bring the rack down a bit in size but still have a similar powerplant in place for the speakers. 
I'll pop some photos of the K808ES up when it arrives including a few internal shots, shouldn't be long before it comes now!

The STR-DA9000ES is the real deal and is only second to the STR-DA9100ES sound quality.  Sadly Sony went south afterward the released of the DA9000ES.  Blame it to poor judgement of their executives and a bad economy, Sony just went with building a cheaper ES units.  The 9100ES with HDMI switching was only available to the Japanese domestic market.  The DA9000ES was one of the most powerful (200W x 9.1 channels) receiver using a pure digital amp technologies.  The 9000ES was so ahead of its time as it was the NAD M-2 of today's amplifier..

They certainly don't put the time and passion into their stuff now, its all machine made and assembled with very little manual labour! 
A friend of mine has acquired a TA-N80ES recently and that sounds superb through his VA-555ES and a CDP-337 as his source.
I have my PC hooked up to the DA2400 and changed between the CDP and the drive in the pc with the same cd, its amazing how much the dynamics and clarity change with the right source.
The pc was horribly bass obtrusive where the cdp all flowed nicely not exactly a fair comparison with the drive being LG lol but even so, people say oh why are you spending all that money on that it all sounds the same it kinda shows the point easier

I am currently using my DVP-S9000ES as the source to feed my Woo Audio amp which drives my HD-800's.  I really like the sound.

The S9000ES was very well built and a dream for modder back then.  The only problem with it is the CD-R compatibility.  I actually never own the S9000ES but do own the successor of it.....the DVP-9100ESx2.  The 9100ES was the last of the ES line of DVD/CD/SACD players I think before the Bluray craze began.  If I'm not mistaken the S9000ES was nearly as good as the SCD-777ES for much better price and it should provide better sound than the C333 & C555ES 5-disc players.  The all copper chassis on the S9000ES is gorgeous.  Have u purchased a spare laser?

Not for the S9000ES, it has not gotten that much use except as a DVD player which was a low use situation compared to a cd/sacd player use.  I use an SCD-1 as the SACD/CD player in my main system (a full stereo system as opposed to a headphone system).  I have a spare laser and spares for the two motors that most commonly fail on that unit.  I wounder if I could still get a spare laser for the S9000ES?

This is my mostly Sony ES HT.  I am very happy with it. As stated earlier on this thread the only upgrade I'm considering is replacing my stereo only SACD player with a multi-channel player.
