Because I am obsessed with keeping my IEMs pistine (as well as everything else I own), I really needed a case that would prevent scratching. I made this case out of an Altoids tin and microfiber cloth from Walmart ($1.80). It is the same cloth I use on my high end optics (believe it or not) so I know it is soft enough. I learned to sew the little IEM "mittens." They stay on pretty well so if I just need to take my IEM's out for a little and don't want to put them in the case, I can just put the mittens on and toss them over my shoulders.

I agree that a sturdy case is the only good way to carry IEMs (I have already shown mine in another thread). But why so much microfiber fabric? A small microfiber cloth is enough to clean them. As for scratches, the only threat I can think of is the audio jack rubbing against the earpieces. But the tin prevents it from pressing against them, so carefully placing the jack is safe enough for me. Maybe you should put the tin in a ziplock plastic bag, to keep the tin pristine.

Wow, cool! I do have several tin boxes of Fisherman's Friend, but use them to store mainly accessories like tips, cables, etc, and not the IEMs themselves. ER-4P come with a nice box and also a nice carrying bad, but most of the time I keep them in my pocket

Alright, maybe I mispoke when I called them mittens. I think they would be more accurately described as "microfiber armor". That sounds much more masceline.

I would be afraid to keep my IEMs in my pocket. I wouldn't want to scratch the chromed parts on the SA6's.

I don't know about you guys, but having spent $190 on portable headphones I am obsessed with trying to keep them pristine.
