Really basic stuff here:

An old Sony PCDP with MS-1s for me.

The Wife uses iPod with KSC75s she ripped off from ME!!

And all the grandkids have Creative mp3s with cheap earbuds cause they've proven by tangling the cable from my MS1s in their computer chair, that they can's be trusted with anything better!

I think you should spend your money on a new keyboard, instead of a MS-1.
Cause the 'Caps lock' key on your keyboards seems to be stuck, and hence it need to be replaced!

ATRAC3+, baby!
Sony MDer for about the last 6-7 years. Started at LP2, then moved up to HiMD/HiSP and finally to AAL (352kbps lossless). Like MP3 players, using a lossless codec is a little rough on batts, but it's the only way to go.
