Should it be the HD590 or HD595?

Guten Tag!

I've got a question:

I already own the Sennheiser HD600.
Now a local dealer has made some special price offers on some headphones. The HD590 and the HD595 are the most interesting ones for me.
They are both under 100 € (95 € for the HD590 and 99 € for the HD595).

Listening only to classical music, which one should I get?
Which one is probably more comfortable to wear?
Is the quality of both the same?

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot for every answer!

Greetings from WEST-Germany

The HD590 is an older, 1999-generation model that has been discontinued and is being replaced by the HD595. The HD590 is more comfortable than the HD595, but actually sounds significantly worse than the HD595. The HD590 has shrill highs and weak midrange, resulting in an incoherent overall sound.

Wow, that's a great price on those HD595s...too bad I don't live in Europe!

HD595 is great, but if you already have the HD600, why get 595s?

Cheers,

Really? What shape is your head, Eagle_Driver? I dare you to produce a line drawing of it.

I've had the HD590, yes they are VERY VERY comfortable, but I've found their sound orribly hollow and not equilibrated, I really prefer the PX100 over the HD590. Now I'm very happy with my new/old HD565. From what I've read I think that the HD595 are miles away from the hollow sound of the HD590, and they are for sure the better choice beetween the two. And for that price... run and buy it!

Bye
