Should I upgrade to the ER4P?

As far as worrying about the iPod not being able to deliver...

I plan to buy a mini in January (I'm waiting until Apple updates it)...and in the meantime I'm choosing my canal-phones. If I knew I would be stuck using the headphone jack on the iPod I might have thought twice about spending $400 - almost twice the cost of the player. But I know I can always buy an amp and a line-out if I so choose...(and spend more, lol)

If only my budget would allow me to do it now. I guess I have something to look forward to...
