I have a Magni 2 with a low/high gain switch that works with all of my headphones.  However, I am thinking of upgrading but I am wondering if I am only to spend $300 on another headphone amp, will make significant sound differences over the Magni 2.

If I am upgrading, I want one that will work with most headphones and not just ones with high ohms.

My current line up:

Sony MDR-7506
HD598
DT880 250 Ohms
Q701
Grado SR-60i

Any comments or suggestions?

You could experiment with tubes. I'm in your same position and that's my next step. I ordered a Schiit Vali 2 and an APPJ 1502A.

What about these cute little amps from Bravo Audio?  I just don't know how flexible they are compared to my Magni 2.  Maybe spending $80 on a tube amp isn't really an upgrade but just may sound a bit different than a SS Magni?
