I've had my carbon for about 3 months, and have loved it, but recently decided to die. I could just get another carbon or wait a week or 2 and get a H10...or even get a micro.

The thing that put me off the micro was the touchpad, but the iriver one sounds quite better. What do people think of the sound quality, as reviews are quite confusing?Which one also has the easiest navigation?

Thanks in advance

i heard that the iriver one is a bit better but i've never heard that its miles ahead better. i've heard that the iriver and micro are basically the same with a small edge going to the micro for being a bit warmer. but unless your really looking you cant tell. the micro's touch pad is something that you should get used to fairly quickly

The Micro sounds amazing (better than the H10, or so I've heard), and I love the touchpad on it...It takes a little getting used to, but now I can navigate through the menus very quickly and efficiently.

Thanks guys. From how popular the micro is I'm sure I could get used to the touchpad. Is it easy to navigate the micro while in your pocket, because that was a great thing I found with my carbon?

It's near-impossible to navigate from the pocket. You can buy the remote though.

I'm still waiting for news of what happened to my H10 which was 'lost in transit'. Unfortunately the shop isn't sending another one yet. I might cancel the order, leave them to sort it out and get one in the shops, now that I've seen a few stores carrying them.

Hey bangraman:

If you ever get your H10 would you mind posting an impression of it? I want to get the player as an upgrade to my MuVo^2 1.5 soon.

Thanks.

Well, I managed to cancel the H10 order, leave them to sort out the non delivery issues and get the card refunded, and I ordered from elsewhere... and saved some money in the process

It'll be with me on Monday. I'll write something, either up on Head-Fi or on my blog.

lol yes i've always disliked Creative's software (except the SoundBlaster/Audigy line), but with the micro's integration with WMP10, everything works like a dream.

i wonder if i can uninstall all that crap now that i'm using the beta firmware

Yay I got me my international (READ: UMS) H10 for around 276 USD...

Quick impression

Pros:
262K screen looks great
Sleek
The controls are sensibly (enough) laid out
Design is clean

Cons:
Stupid port cover that can be detached and LOST

Yes, they included 2 extra covers, so you can afford to lose 2

Screen can be a little bigger
A little slow to respond (GUI).

Not sure if mine is working properly yet. I've contacted iRiver with my problems so far. One of the problems (if it can be called that) is that the colour screen is not terribly impressive, and the photo feature seems less than useful.

My first impression is that the Zen Micro has an edge in the way it works, but the iRiver has an actual button for the 'click' which does make it easier to use in certain circumstances than the all-touch Zen. The iRiver has the styling edge though. Whereas the Zen is 'cute', the iRiver (along with the Mini) is 'crisp'. It also has the colour screen wow factor of course.

Nice work bangraman. I fully concur with your opinions concerning dap photo abilties. It just kinda of pointless.

Could you take some more pics of your blue h10?....Im probably going to buy one (if they fix the firmware soon) and I am considering what color to get.
