Should I just buy a Mojo 2 (or go for a Schiit stack)

Hi,

I will need a second system. I‘m therefore thinking of using the Bifrost 2 from my speaker setup and buying a Schiit headphone amplifier.

Or should I just buy a Mojo 2? It seems to be better according to some and cost almost the same as for example the Jotunheim 2 with shipping tax and so on (live in EU). No real need for battery power though.

I would only use a pair of Sennheiser HD 600 at the moment.

I’m open to buying more expensive headphones in the future (if it changes anything).

You are contemplating two very different devices and technological approaches. Consider deeply the capabilities of each in terms of their respective inputs & outputs and what you need now as well as what you may desire in the foreseeable future.
Battery on Mojo 2 is wasted in your case but at least it wouldn't be an ongoing operational issue with it being bypassed in Intelligent Desktop Mode. If you want a novel effective EQ method Mojo 2 delivers. Ditto for a simplified Crossed. Has you covered if you swing for something further up the Sennheiser ladder or beyond but no true hard to drive phones. Compact and puts on a nice light show. True ear and eye candy.
My Schiit experience is limited and not the best but no reason it wouldn't be a good choice if it meets your needs. The choice of SE or Balanced outputs plus ability to power a wider range of headphones could be important. Plain Jane otherwise but as long a the DAC delivers it is about the music!
Been a satisfied Mojo user since the 2015 release date. No doubt experienced Schiit users will jump in. Good luck.

If you want balanced, go for the Shiit stack.
If you want portable, go for the Mojo.
If you don't care about either, then it really doesn't matter--both are excellent. I would personally go for the Shiit stack, but it's preferential.

The HD 600 deserves a good amp, and there are plenty aside from aforementioned piles of...

Thanks for all the answers!
I’ve sold the Bifrost and ordered a Mojo 2.
I never tried the OG Mojo and are a bit curious. But still curious with OTL amps to. I had a Earmax Pro 15 years ago or so with HD650 but wasn't that impressed. But it seems to be far better alternatives out there now.
I think the HD-600 is quite enjoyable straight from a Apple Lightning - 3.5mm Adapter at the moment.
I guess that I can except a big bump in performance with the Mojo 2?

IMO the Chord DACs are very special, when I bought the original Mojo it made me kick out a $4000 DAC from my stereo system and replace it with a used Chord 2Qute, and in the meantime I also own the Hugo 2 and love it.
But don't necessarily expect a "big bang" effect when you listen to it for the very first time. Yes, it sounds really good immediately, but as your brain gets used to the very natural and accurate music reproduction it becomes even more sensitive to harsh and "digital" sound from lesser sources. Music simply sounds more "alive" to me with the Chord DACs and I still consider the original Mojo a turning point in my head-fi journey.
