Hi

I want to buy a decent pair of headphones and i was just wondering which would be the best out of these 2? I mostly listen to rock (anything from indie to metal) and a bit of game soundtracks from time to time. I will mainly be using these for travel so they need to be durable but i want good sound quality. I have had the sony ex71s but i want to try something that can really give great quality. I will mainly be using them on my ipod and psp so is it worth ripping my music in 320kbps mp3 or should i just stick to 192kbps? I have a budget of £40-50 ($80-100)

You should get the Denon C551 instead. It's easily better than those 2.

Or the Head-Direct RE2's. They are light on bass however but have better treble than the c551's. Both the Denon c551's and Head-Direct RE2's are better than ones you mentioned.

So it's:

More good bass, ok treble = Denon c551's
Light on bass, great treble (highs) = Head-Direct RE2's.

You can buy the RE2's @ http://www.head-direct.com
They're $99 (53 pounds) (since the rebate is only for North American customers)
(Fang should really start paying me for how much I promote them on here :p)

Also since mp3 is the only option to encode them to be compatible with the iPod and PSP, go 320kbps mp3.

o ok, tbh im not sure if i want to spend $100 on headphones unless there available on amazon.co.uk as i have a £10 ($20) voucher. Also i would prefer if it was more between the UE metro.fi and the cx500. Are the UE metro.fi 2s not good at all? I've heard some good things about them.

If cx-500 sounds similar to cx-400 and if you want something cheaper i recommend ah-c351 if you can equalize.

I haven't seen much about metrofi 2.
