I just wrote this post and realized it is probably too long and people might not want to read through the whole thing. The main point is I'm in the market for new headphones and I'm currently in love with the VMODA M-100s. Do you guys think I should get them? I'm looking for portability, durability, and some noise dampening, does not have to be active noise cancellation. We can assume that my budget is $300 tops. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I'm new here. Recently, I lost my Beats Tours (the ear buds) after owning them for six years (yeah I know, blahblahblah Beats but six years ago they were perceived much differently in society). I went on a hunt to track down some headphones that I know I will love for the next few years. I decided I wanted headphones, not earbuds, as I do not mind them for travelling and I find them much more enjoyable than earbuds (more comfortable, better noise dampening). After searching many sites that reviewed and recommended different headphones, I fell in love with the VMODA M-100s. They are so perfect in my eyes. They are durable, good looking yet still understated (in Matte Black at least), and they have a great feature-set (the V corks, the interchangeable wires, the fact that they fold so small for travelling). I found them in Brookstone the other day and tried them out, and that just made me want them so much more. I've gotten my parents to agree to buy them for me for Christmas, but they're shaky on the $300 price point (although if I push hard enough I know they'll get them for me ). So I've been on eBay and head-fi (I am wary of fakes on eBay so I am mainly on head-fi) trying to get a good, nearly-new set for at least a small bit under retail, but I've realized I did not give other headphones a real chance. Do you guys think I should commit to the VMODAs? If not, any other suggestions that will compare? (Mainly looking for portability, durability, and some noise dampening, does not have to be active noise cancellation) We can assume that my budget is $300 tops. Thanks in advance!
P.S. - I do not know where to ask this, so I hope I can just put this here and someone can answer it quickly - does anyone know why I'm limited to 2 private messages per day? Where/how can I get that limit lifted? Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
