As a follow up to my comments before:
I've just received a set of SE310s to replace my E4g's which had cracked. I bought my phones from a US ebay shop (I'm in the UK) and my warranty had expired by 3 weeks. Shure replaced them without issue.
They are also allowing me to upgrade to the 530's (for a fee) and are happy for me to test the SE310s first.
As long as you get a warranty (and Shure seem quite flexible on the seller) their customer service is excellent.
On another note, my SE310s sound really nice and I'm currently thinking of keeping them and not upgrading (no doubt I'll have changed my mind by the morning though).
