I have an akg k267 headphone and a laptop with with IDT High Definition Audio CODEC integrated soundcard. So my question should I get a DAC/AMP, coz according what i know is that if you have a decent soundcard(is my IDT a good soundcard?:)) and low impedance headphone the benefit of getting an DAC/AMP is less significant? If it would be really helpful for me to get one, which one should I get, I am looking into fiio e17, i would like it be portable and around 100$

Fiio E10, E07K & E17 would be improvements over a laptop's on-board audio.
Right now the Fiio E17 is selling for $110, which is a good price as the E17's normal price is $140.

Hi, where can I get the E17 for $110? Hope it's not Amazon because they charge another $25 to ship it to my country.

If you can get the E17, the improvements more than justify the small additional cost.

The E07 used to cost $70, and the E17 used to cost $170.

You can't really enjoy high-end headphones to their fullest extent if you don't have an upgraded DAC and amplifier, because the ones that are in most devices like computers and phones are absolutely awful.

Somehow you will spend thousands even if you dont have it..

Well my recommendation for a low budget is probably a Audinst hud mx1. My friend has one and its not bad for its price!

It happens, heh. There's a reason that they say "Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet".

I just checked ebay, they are still charging minimum USD$23 for shipping that makes it the same price as retail in my country. I think the shipping cost is unreasonable.

I agree that the cost is unreasonable, but them's the breaks if you're a Head-Fier who doesn't live in Japan or the United States.
