Should I buy the Sennheiser HD-555?

My recommendations:

For gaming = ATH-A*00 (Closed)
For surround movies = ATH-*00 (Closed)
For overall music = HD555 >--< HD650 (Open)
For Basshead = DT770 or ATH-*00 (Closed)

Comfort = DT770 or ATH-*00

Also note that ATH-A*00's are not recommended for outdoor use due to it's huge size.

I second that. Straight out of the box I was pretty disappointed with my 555's, especially with the bass, but after about 100 hours of burn in the bass has really tightened up, and the mids and highs are shining through. I thoroughly enjoy my 555's listening to most rock. They are probably not as exciting as a pair of Alessandro MS1s, and not as 'in your face' but the more laid back listen and bigger soundstage is what I need sometimes. They're a great can for the money IMHO.
