finally after all these years, its my new christmas display.
The thing on the big heatsink is a spectra physics 808 nm diode
pump. At 1.7 volts and 25 amperes it puts out 20 watts.
The black thing on top of the power supply is the yag head.
It puts out 2.5 watts of 532 nm for every 6.4 watts of pump.
The pump obviously gets pretty hot hence the peltier cooler.
The bench supplies have been replaced by something far more
rational. I'll probably be running it only at 1 watt which is still
class IV.

Please don't try this at home without the proper safety equipment.

Hmm I was just wondering why they dont include these in planes. If they crash someone in an island like in lost, they can shine the light everywhere instead of using flares
