I disregarded to write a review the other day after I did the socket mod to the foam. Well here it is now.

To me it seemed to help make the "veil" dissapear a bit, Making the sound more forward sounding, well thats what I recall the difference is compared to the stock uncut foam covers. It might be a different with stock cable because my HD600's have the cardas. Anyways the low-mids are more "there" as in more fuller sound. Now this must be me but it has slightly more bass as well. The difference compared to stock foam covers isn't too large of an alter but you can notice it. I'm not exact about how the rest of the frequency is over the stock foam because I don't have stock foam covers to compare at this moment.

Here are some pictures.

Thanks for the quick impression... I prefer my sens with this mod, for the reasons you noted.

Im using the 650 cable and also notice more bass impact compared to the 600/580 cable.

Thanks! I might think of trying that. Very good job btw, the cuts are nice and clean.
