So, I'm about to buy a Shiit Asgard, and their website sells the amp in 2 voltages: 115V & 230V.

What is the difference between the two, and which should I buy?

I'm using a MacbookPro> Fiio e10 > Asgard.
Phones are: Beyer DT770Pro80, Senn HD600, Grado 225i.

Thanks!

and while I'm asking here, which Schiit is better for my cans, the Asgard or Valhalla?
(their website makes it seems like the Asgard is better for low impedance and Valhalla for higher)

(grado=32ohm; beyer=80ohm; senn=300ohm)

230V is for Europe, just get the 110V, there is no other option. And they make no difference in sound quality. Get the Asgard since your low impedance cans outweigh your high impedance ones. And if that 300 ohm Senn is a HD650, it'll actually sound quite good with an Asgarde.

thanks for the help.

the Senn is the HD 600.
also, my next set of cans will be either the Beyer DT880 600ohm, or AKG K702/Q701

think the Asgard will drive the higher impedance ones reasonably well??

DT880 you'll want a Valhalla, having owned the combo, I can say they work very well together. Of course the Asgard will do the high impedance but it just won't be as good as the Valhalla.

In my opinion, that's a good match on paper, but not as good of a match in reality.  The 880s are said to be neutral and dry at times, which is exactly how the Valhalla is sometimes described in certain setups.  Pairing the 880s with the Valhalla might be too bright and dry for some people's tastes.  If this is what they like, then great.  It sounds like that is the sound you prefer.  But, I think other tube amps pair better with the 880s than the Valhalla.
