Sheffield Lab (800-576-4745) has just re-released Thelma Houston & Pressure Cooker, Gold edition, onto CD.

I had just called them to order a Harry James cd, The King James version @ $16.95 (absolutely awesome renditions of Traces [of Love] and Sweet Georgia Brown) , and kiddingly asked if they had any TH & P cd's laying around. The lady told me they had just put the gold re-release on the shelves - $24.95 for the CD.

For those of you who don't know, this album was recorded onto vinyl as a direct to disk recording around 1978. This album is my standard for showing off my system due to the *extreme* clarity of the recording, not to mention the great music. It'll make any system shine...

It is half instrumental. Thelma's husky honeyed voice does the vocals, namely "I've got the music in me", "Got to get you into my life", "To know you is to love you", and "Don't Misunderstand". Those last two are great! Heck, they're all great.

The instrumentals are jazzy, with a flavor of reggae and ragtime thrown in.

This is one of those recordings that's a must have on both vinyl & CD.

I just had to share
