The concept of the thread is simple, post your favorite and best wallpapers =)
If you know the artist behind the wallpaper, it would be nice to give them credit. We should always support artists whose work we love, respect, and use. They deserve it.

P.S. Idk if Head-Fi compresses or alters images' quality, so feel free to PM me if you cannot find the original version online.

I'll go first:

1. Wallpapers from The Verge. Not a lot of people know, but The Verge has its own artists who create wallpapers, and these wallpapers are sometimes used in their reviews. Here's a direct link: https://www.theverge.com/pages/wallpapers. Aside from getting different dimensions (e.g. landscape AND portrait), some wallpapers have alternate versions that are the same wallpaper but in different colors. I make all my wallpapers with Gimp and was told I "could get a job in Hollywood designing hacker desktops for movies." Call me.

I made all these, some I've posted here and have some available for download on my sites. I work with Gimp every day and get a lot of personal enjoyment out of it.

I was using this one many years ago as motivation when I was memorizing FIFTY A4 pages of some text from word to word as a part of my degree exams. I did it and memorized every single one.

I passed it as one of the top 10 people in the whole class it helped me A LOT!

Tell me who you like to listen to and if I see a photo that inspires me I'll try to make a wallpaper you like.

When I used my Thinkpad X61 with 12.1" TFT display at 1024x768 resolution for an .mpp3 player I was always making wallpapers off album covers or photos to go with what I was listening to.

That would be awesome! I guess our music preferences are quite different, I have been into jazz all my life. Some of my favorites are Oscar Peterson, McCoy Tyner, and Art Blakey.

I'm 65 years old though, everything from Cab Calloway to Beatniks having some influence in my life. Although not my personal choice for listening enjoyment, I'm familiar with several artists on this page I researched:

Beatnicks having some attraction to a young Agent of Chaos testing the chains of conformity, At times brewing an open pot of Expresso and expressing unthought thoughts to the unthinking minds, sending shards of reality crashing to the ground like a monkeywrench tossed in the gears of a clock that ticks but don't tock by an assassin dressed in black late for my own funeral, lost in the darkness, black, black is the new black, only blacker and more alone with no thoughts of thoughts unthought to think pink. Tick tock tick tock.

I feel somewhat of an atfinity to Art Tatum and believe I'll spend some time listening to his music to get in the right state of mind. This type of wallpaper different from what I usually do.


And if it stinks, which it might, have a hot cup of Brim, fill it to the rim and tell me to put that boogieeeeeee... in Eddie Murphy's butt.
