Was this ever answered which method for rooting worked? Would love to root the M9. Thanks!

Every time I sleep the player using the power button, sound doesn't come back until a restart. Anyone else having this problem? Also, no matter what I do, I cannot get a launcher to stay after reboot and I really dislike Quickstep but it keeps coming back.

Are you on firmware V1.5? And what app are you using?

It's not possible to use alternative launcher, it's blocked by our software team. It's due to the implementation of Prime mode.

That's a shame about the launcher. It would be really great to be able to use a launcher of our choosing. Regarding the sound not playing, it happens with any music app including the Shanling player, poweraudio, tidal, N7, etc...

ETA: By the way, I should add that this doesn't happen that the music stops when the screen turns off the music stops playing. It is that if the M9 screen is off and not playing for like 5-10 minutes and I turn the screen now and try to play something then there is no sound.

Strange behavior. We have new firmware coming next week, best to test that one out and see if it stays.

Can anyone tell me the specs for a proper charger for the M9? Yes 18w, but the amperage and voltage? Can I charge it from a 12v source, or does it need to be a 110v power source?
My Astel & Kern Kann Cube required a 110v power source, or you could damage it.

Android APK and XAPK files systems don't play nicely with DAP's. It's a problem for many devices. Getting Tidal to run on a DAP can be frustratingly unreliable and buggy. It's a problem best addressed by android and Tidal.

why not just make it a 5G phone with camera as well. i would switch to m9 from iphone pro max.

When you put in cellphone features, sound performances will suffer horribly. That is due to the interferences, parasitic losses and so on…I especially do not want to have a ring tone while I am listening to my music lol

I use an Anker Nano II 65w charger with variable power out for all of my DAPs (M9, N8ii, 3MAX, DX312, M17), Android and Apple devices. It supports fast charging, super fast charging (not 45w SFC 2.0) and USB power delivery.
Input: 100-240V~ 2.1A 50-60Hz

Output: 5.0V==3.0A /9.0V==3.0A / 15.0V==3.0A / 20.0V==3.25A (65W Max)

Also use Nano II 20w and 45w chargers without any issues. The chargers will only provide as much power as the device requires.

At default, M9 will charge from anything that can output 5V/2A over USB port. For faster charging, you need to have charger that support qualcomm quick charge 3.0

There is no such thing as limitation to 110V, that all depend on what charger you use, nothing to do with M9.

Got the Arya stealth to pair with M9. I think it sounds pretty good with Susvara as a reference point. I feel M9 can drive Arya to its potential, but maybe with better amp, the bass can tighten up some and stage may open up more. I don't listen to headphones much anymore, I bought it more for M9, and see what it can do.

Well, not sure what that means. But in a large part, if the fit is not right, the sound signature will be off. And the first thing that goes are the trebles. Have a listen for yourself

The comment about estats might have to do with the kind of load they present to an amplifier-usdually they are quite high capacitance and like voltage more than current.... not sure about the electrets used in iems, but differnt types of drivers preent different kinds of loads for an amp to have to drive. the drivers can be reactive and change their parameters depending on frequency, and dynamic drivers fight back and dump back-emf into an amp. An amp that allows the back-emf to disrupt its feedback loop will sound different driving different (kinds of) loads.

I think this firmware fixed my issue with not being able to restart music after the player has been asleep a while.

Anyone using LO from their M9? I got the Arya Stealth and love it. Thinking about jumping back into desktop setup again. Was planning on to just use the M9 as DAC and get standalone amp.
