I feel I don't need anymore resolution out of a DAP. M9's instrument separation is just celestial. I'm not sure I got that much clarity from the Susvara. It sounds very natural with no digital glare. After 7 years of owning the same pair of CIEM with various so-called TOTL DAPs, I'm not expecting further scaling, but M9 is just put the ES60 on a different level.

I'm only using IEMs but I've been amazed how much anything with a dynamic driver has scaled with M9 - really has brought them to another level for me. It'll take a lot for me to want another DAP, it really does tick every box - I'd say flawless.

Lets keep this up. Maybe Shanling will send us free M10s. :o2smile:

Anyone knows if having a single headphone socket is suppose to provide a cleaner pathway or is it purely cosmetic? I really have no issues with 3-4 holes on top of the player. It's much more convenient to have all sockets available. If there is a technical improvement, then I'm all for it as people probably use 4.4 mm 90% of the time.

We do not have any claims for it to make sound better. Idea behind this socket was for it to allow better optimization of inner components (as you don't need to deal with 4 different sockets) and to allow for possible future modules (we still have the RCA and XLR prototypes sitting around). It also allowed us to easily add 3.5Pro, which at the time was getting some momentum.

I believe M7 gives a clear sign how we expect to move forward with most of our future designs.

Just hopped onto the Shanling M9 and Cayin N8ii bandwagons .. Coming from a Hiby R8 and not wanting to risk a lack of oomph with my more difficult to drive cans I decided to get both the N8ii and M9 in the house to put them against each other.

.. If my positive impressions of the M8 are anything to go by, the M9 should be able to give a good compromise between musicality and drive ..But how will it fare against the N8ii? Counting down to when I get them ..

Anyone tried Arya with the M9? Not sure if M9 can drive them to its potential.

Arya V2 & V3 are driven really well from the Hiby R8 with 1088mw @32ohm. I would expect the M9 to do equally well with 1200mw @32ohm .. But I haven't heard the M9 yet. I can check that on Friday 😇

Hi M9 users,

Just wondering if anyone has seen this issue. When playing albums in the Shanling Music app, I'm seeing duplicates of some of the songs. These duplicates are the same songs that have been added to a playlist, so if I delete any duplicate songs in the album view, the song will also be removed from the playlist.

Is there a setting somewhere that can stop this strange behaviour, or is a bug? I have the latest firmware installed.

Thanks in advance.

Nice. You like your MEST MKII with M9? I'm shopping for a 2nd pair for CIEMs. Debating between the MEST MKII or Aroma Jewel.
Yes I do! I think the Mest 2 is an underestimated pair of iems cos if the fit issues. With the custom form, no such issues
