Default is "steep".

There is no "best filter", use your ears to choose the one you prefer.

that's why... Shanling should implement all the possible filter options if they could... at least include the "short delay sharp roll off" filter too...

Imagine if we could play with these filters...

I want to try Short Delay Sharp Roll-Off since it is said closer to IIR filter... which
claimed to have more natural sonics of NOS-style DACs minus their distortions. I have few NOS DAC and love them for their analogue like sound.

Any chance for next FW to include OTG capability?

Would love to USB out to an iFi iDSD Micro Black Label...

Not likely to have OTG output, due to hardware limitation. But we have coaxial digital output.

That's unfortunate to hear as the M1 is able to OTG...

But at least the M5 has digital coax, which is nice (albeit requiring another cable).

I agree, it would be nice to be able to access all ak4490 filters.

@Shanling : do you think it would be possible for a future firmware release?

Hi @Shanling,

Is there any chance that Windows 10 compatible USB driver for M5 will be released any time soon?
I have Windows 10 on both work and home laptops and had no chance to use M5 as a USB dac/amp because of that.

Manipulations with disabling Windows 10 safety features is not the case with corporate laptop.

Thank You in advance!

PS: I bought my M5 after reading this thread and and just love it. Thanks to all You guys for contribution!

Hi, I had the same problem, so following my friend advice I installed Linux (Elementary Ubuntu) on old laptop. First of all no driver issues with M5, and the sound is much better.
Kind regards

Hi @homeuser067 ,

Thank You for advice!
Though it sounds to me like pretty radical solution

On my home laptop I even can mess around with Windows 10 and install existed driver, but on my second corporate laptop I need Windows 10 and I'm not allowed to disable Windows 10 safety features.

Agree : Shanling must provide us a valid and certified driver for Windows 10, exactly like they did for the M3 after asking in the M3 thread.

We are soon in 2017, no one should put a device on the market without working drivers.
