1) Is there a browse by file option which allows for folder play?
Yes, M2 supports folder play as well.

1.1) Is there a limit to folder depth or for files?
The maximum depth is 9 layer.

2) Line out comes directly from the DAC without using op-amp & TPA6120A2 or it using op-amp only?
It is using op-amp only.

2.1) Is gain, volume and EQ have zero effect when using line out?
Gain and volume have no effect to LO, but EQ has.

2.2) And please can you tell me the line output max voltage?
1.3V

3) HP output impedance?
About 12 ohm.

4) m3u8, m3u and image + CUE supported on this DAP?
Yes, all supported.

Thank you for your question and your praise!

Yes, many of the DAPs are now with very low HO impedance (less than 1 Ohm), but there are also some exceptions, like the early Astell&Kern and early Hifiman players.

Together with the impedance of the earphone/headphone, HO impedance effects the coefficient of damping, which leads to different listening experience.  High HO impedance tend to create softer and relax sound, and provides more sound characteristics, especially with those high impedance earphones/headphones.

By answering every question and giving comprehensive answers, it's safe to say @Shanling
is guaranteeing themselves more sales than companies who are on mute.

+1

Thanks for correcting this Shanling!

1. Is M2 being tested with IEM that have HO impedance less than 16 Ohms?

2. Is M2 being tested with multi-BA IEM?

3. Is 10 Ohms correct for M3 HO impedance?

As always, thanks for the updates!

It appears Shanling and other DAPS are available stateside via mail order from SHENZHENAUDIO in China.  I assume a few have had experience ordering from them.  Are they reliable?  How long does it take to receive merchandise?

Thank you, I looked them up and they have a nice storefront. They have the M3. I'll have to go read up on that one.

It's funny, I hadn't been on here for a long time, got here this morning via a search for a battery for my Zip Clip which I was repairing and modifying other parts of. There have been a lot of DAP released since I last looked at them. Which is good to see, but I missed a lot of the plot. New characters, new levels of pricing, and lots of claims.

What grabbed me about the M2 description; folder play, concern about sound quality, sonic comparison to tubes (although there are many types and configs), older engineers being involved. Still looking for a schemo for a tube amp for the car. Solid state sound is fine for adjusting things and diagnosis, but not for long listening.

Also, have been ripping albums to 128/32, how does M2 handle the 32?
