Shanling M2 DAP

1. Some manufacturers (Fiio, example), fixed the 5800 tracks bugs without (mentioning) any slow down on system response time. May be the slow down is negligible, same as Fiio (may be why Fiio not mentioning if indeed it is the similar issue affecting all manufacturers)? I think it is worth a try fixing it. May be like nmatheis suggested, let the people try it and see their feedback.
2. I would go with the 44:9 majority.
3. Possible to implement some of the M2 goodies for big brother M3? I owned the M3 and one wish I had was changes to the power on button implementation. It should be press and hold to power on (currently, you just need a light press to power on the unit), just like press and hold to power off.

Thank you for your ideas.

1. We will do some test on a beta version of the response time and see how serious the affect is. If it is indeed negligible we will implement it.

2. There will be a M3 firmware update in the near future, taking some good features on M2 to M3.

Regarding the power button
We change it from hold to boot up to click to boot up, due to some strong voice that hold is inconvenient. Now we have some voice to ask to take it back. Demands are various

1) & 2) Excellent news! :beerchug:

Imo, power on/off should be 'hold' to prevent unintended accidentally presses, while 'click' is appropriate for quick response action like screen on/off.

Great! I'm with puppyfi. Hold should be for Power On/Off. Click should toggle Screen On/Off.

And yes, you'll get many competing suggestions for "improvement"

Received my M2 yesterday and have used it for about ten hours now with various earphones and headphones and must say that I am impressed. Has a very detailed sound presentation without being sibilant and tiring, in fact, I fell asleep listening to it and woke in the early hours of the morning with the music still playing! The synergy with my Beyer T90's is very impressive(unamplified) and also with various earphones. The UI is also very easy to use and not buggy, I'm looking at you Astell & Kern! So far very impressed and happy with my purchase. It has a more detailed presentation than my M3 but I enjoy both a lot. Cheers.

Woohoo! I'm glad we've got another M2 fan in the house!!!

I don't feel alone now. Unfortunately, I've got to ship this one out on its US Tour...

+1. I agree with hold = power and click = screen toggle.

Did you unzip the file first? It should be "m2.fw".
