i just recived my new ATH-FC7 today, and tried them right away on my IAUDIO X5. i used 3 original albums (metal) i had, 2 test the sound & i was really disapointed! i don't know if i become 2 much of an "audiophile", since i also didn't enjoy the SR-60, audigy 2 value or any other audio source i heard or i'm just an audio noob that can't set the EQ right!
so what is the best EQ settings in the X5, for metal music?
i tried to combain all kind of things, didn't work good also =/

Try something like

Bass +10 -3 -3 -1 +1 Treble

The X5 only gains in the EQ.

I normally keep mine flat, but now i just go

2 1 0 2 3

or
3 2 1 3 5

I always leave the effects off

i tried both of ur settings, and i liked Veggie_Musician's settings more, i guess cuz of the larger bass (or what ever num' 10+ is

) with all effects off.

Have you tried a flat eq but maybe +1 to +3 in upper treble to give a bit of bite with Mach3 bass on?
