Setting up a Gaming PC! Need advice for speakers!

Wow! Thanks everyone for the help. as far as my budget.. 100$ is fine but $200 is beyond what I would like to pay.. As far as the whole 2.1 and 5.1 it does not matter tooooooo much as to what it is. I am just looking for the best quality for a decent price. I enjoy my music but I do not know if I have to jump into this separate world of audiophile just yet. In the future I might yes. All of these are great recommendations though!

Lane Weaver: I would like to take the peoples word on this forum rather then a mag articles. No offense intended towards you.

Right now, I see myself spending about $1k+ just on everything else for my computer. If my speakers cost more then just my graphics card then its something I don't want. I am looking at the Logitech's Z623or Z506 depending on which I really want come the near future. Thank you everyone for these recommendations! And the M50's might be the next purchase after this first purchase breaks.

It's pretty tough at 100$, though Logitech is crap, not to hard to beat. I might be tempted to get a T-Amp and some Goodwill speakers.

Logitech anything.

And the obligatory "can you stretch your budget 50$" recommendation. The above amp with these speakers.

The difference is, either of the above speakers will be around in 5 years, 10 years, they may change roles, move to your living room, move to your bedroom, your garage, etc. The logitech will be in the dump in 5 years, i guarantee it.

The Polk Audio Monitors have good reviews at Consumer Reports.
If that little T-Amp can really power the speakers, it's a good bargain for sound.
Maybe spend $10 more dollars for the amp?

That amp is less then ideal, but still plenty to wallop the Logitech. If I was not so hard against the wall on budget, i'd recomend this little guy. but that puts us way out of range.

I actually own that one, got it B-Stock for 50$. I havent used it much though, just made sure it worked and put it in the closet. I don't need it right now, but I know i can find a use for it in the future, too good a deal to pass up!
