I think he's just avoiding you. You didn't threaten to do unholy things to him with your headphones, did you?

If I email during the day, I can shoot emails back and forth with him like I was using instant messages.

The grills will fit the 580 right out of the box... I just used a teaspoon to gently pry the 580 grills off and then installed the 600 grills... very painless and takes all of two minutes.

My order with Sennheiser was flawless... took all of two minutes to order and had the grills and cable in about 5-6 days... UPS east coast to west coast.

He's quick when i ask easy questions.

When i ask for a status update on either of my two backordered order numbers, it takes him ages to respond. And the answer is always that my order will be filled in 5 weeks.

I'm starting to wonder if i can figure out who to scream at in austria.

Edit: come to think of it, it's a month ago today that he promised he'd send me the velour earpad that he shorted me on the last order he actually shipped.

A month later I wondered where the heck my stuff was. Called, oh, it's backordered. the confirmation email was supposed to say that, but they admit it's confusing.

Weeks pass.

Box shows up. Cables but no earpads.

I call, lady apologizes, says she'll send out the earpads, no shipping charge.

Weeks pass.

I call, some other lady apologizes, says there's no record in the system of my previous call. Swears she'll send out earpads.

And a couple weeks later, they finally turned up.

This is bad, but, somehow, not as bad as AKG.

I'm glad I can simply drive down to my near-by distributors.

I received the Sennheiser invoice and sure enough, they sent the WRONG grills. They invoiced the grills for the HD650, not the HD600, as I had ordered. The HD650 grills are $36.76 each, for a total of $73.52. I would never have agreed to pay that. The representative took the wrong information and I knew it at the time and was powerless, even after having her read it back to me and repeating what I had ordered several times.

This is world class doltry at work!

This makes me recall the recent time when I switched to high definition television at home. We called the Dish Network and they were just dolts. They didn't offer anything reasonable for an HD plan so we went with DirecTV. A few days ago dish network called with some mealy mouthed schpeil about coming back with them, what could they do, etc., Our response was to just forget it.

I had a totally different experience when I phoned Sennheiser. Lady answers the phone and people cracking up in the background. Something about Brittney Spears. Transaction went smoothly, the lady also made sure that it was a pair I wanted and not a single grill. Received the grills within a few business days. No tracking number though, not a big deal.

Called a second time to check the backorder status on the 650 cables, and I could swear to god the guy who answered the phone sounds EXACTLY like the man from the Clear Eyes commercial.

I've dealt with Senn's parts/repair department over the phone about five times. Very couteous folks there and I've never had a problem. Maybe if you calmed down a bit things would work out better for you.

Will 650 grilles fit on a 580? That would be cool.

I am just venting here; I have not been vocal with the folks at Sennheiser. I just need to send the 650 grills back to them and hope that they replace them with 600 grills and credit the difference. I sent email on Tuesday and no response yet. Received the cable separately yesterday (good) and the (wrong) grills today.
