497 wont get much value.
#001 has the highest value and the value depreciates as the number is higher.

Sure #001 may have some novelty value but that is all after #001 it makes no difference...

IMHO...

Good luck to them, I'll just print a cheesey number on a black sticker and replace my 960 with 007. The serial # stickers are.. real quality. Lol. Any takers? The price? It's over 9,000 :D

How about "13" or "2016", "1108" or.... "666".

If one those floats your boat.

But I still doubt the serial number will increase the resale value any...

Wow, there's more for sale on eBay than I expected.

I hadn't even thought to check yet. Quite sad to see how many people were looking to make a profit. I hope that anyone who sees those for sale decides to check the price against Amazon. Currently, the HD650 is less than $315 new on Amazon.

I hate scalpers. It's annoying to think someone buys something just so someone else has to pay more for it. Today, I saw an add on a on local Facebook group for the NES Mini console. The guy bought two at Best Buy and was selling one of them for $500. Sadly, someone bought it.

Why is everyone obsessed about serial numbers.  All of my headphones have them and I cannot hear any of them...

I'm not really sure. At the end of the day I'm happy I got a "lower" number, but it doesn't change my enjoyment of the headphones at all. I'm not planning on selling them, and if I were a buyer I would not pay a premium for a lower number. That's just me though. I'm sure that other people feel differently.

It would seem that there's something innate to our psyches to want a lower number. Maybe for the sense of exclusivity it can bring?

should anyone want #00002, it's available on ebay for only $1k
This is the same thing that happened after the first fostex thx00 drop, ridiculous prices. After a few drops the vultures will see no one going to pay those prices. For what 350.00 you could get the original 650's.

I would get a good chuckle to know there may have been some who bought from the first TH-X00 drop just to profit, and ended up not being able to profit due to subsequent drops. Hopefully that ends up happening with this drop. Though it's not looking promising yet.

i'm still tempted to try to get one, i really wanted to get into this drop but was unsuccessful. i guess it's better to wait for things to settle down a bit though, maybe there will even be another drop.

I was hoping you were kidding. Then I went on Ebay and nope, there it is. Limited Edition!

Technically since every number is used only once, all are unique...

Woah! No one will buy that I hope...or maybe I do. :)

Anyone who pays more than what the drop was for should have their head examined.

I don't know if I'd go that extreme. There's a sub-200 serial number for sale on ebay right now for $275. Now it is being bid on, but it may go for less than an original HD650. Since they are the same headphones, I'd say paying more than $199 but less than the current price of the HD650 would be a great deal actually...
